Why It Is Essential To Have An Emergency Food Supply
Protect Your Family By Establishing An Emergency Food Supply
There are three things that every human being needs in order to survive. Food, water and shelter are primary needs which must be provided at all times for everyone to be healthy and protected. Therefore it is recommended that each household maintain an emergency food supply at all times.
Each family should keep no less than six months worth of groceries on hand in case of an unforeseen event. There are many things which could go wrong that would make getting more impossible. Loss of employment is a real and present possibility at any time. The stockpiled groceries could ease the burden if one person lost their job, and completely maintain the family if both jobs were lost.
Shifting economic conditions are something which most people have never given much thought until recently. With the global economic crisis showing no signs of stabilizing anytime soon, more families are seriously rethinking how they live. Many of them have now begun stockpiling groceries in case things get worse.
Terrorism knows no boundaries. A target can be struck at any time as it has been proven many times over. An act of terrorism could cut your food supply leaving your family vulnerable. The general public could be left fighting it out for the last scraps available. You however would be taking care of your own at home.
Nature can also cause a shortage in essential living supplies. Earthquakes can do terrible damage and so can major flooding and violent storms. Anyone of these could put your community in complete disarray and scrambling for the basic needs to survive. The sad thing is it could take months for federal aid to arrive.
The world we live in has definitely changed and so we must adapt along with it. Now more than ever it is essential for all households to have a backup emergency food supply. It could literally prevent a life or death situation for your family.

What can I do to get exempt from Army reserve? I just got an EE army civilian job.?
I've been in the Active Army 4 years and now have to make the decision of going IRR or Ready Reserve for another 4 years. I also got an Emergency Essential job in Korea as Army Civilian. Problem is my employer told me I can't be deployed and need to get exempt from reserve status to start the job. I read on the hrc website (https://www.hrc.army.mil/site/protect/reserve/soldierservices/mobilization/involmobquestions.htm) that IRR soldiers can put in an exemption to mobilization each year. Can Ready Reservist do this too? What is the process? I just need as much info on this as possible because this is a big career step for me.
I think you are confusing IRR and Reservist. The only time IRR personnel is called back to duty is if they have a crucial MOS and out of dire need. If you are in the IRR, you will have an annual muster with your new command (Yes the IRR actually has a command as well.) You need to speak to them and verify everything. Good luck
